# Game Economy

MetaSpace’s game economy is built from the ground up with a mission to give gamers full control over their in-game assets. All in-game earnings can be converted into $LORD, and all in-game items purchased sit in your wallet as NFTs. MetaSpace follows a dual token system. $LORD serves as the earnings token of MetaSpace, and $MLD serves as the in-game and governance token. This design is adopted to create long-term stability to the token system. Read more about MetaSpace's dual token economy [here](/whitepaper/tokenomics.md#why-a-dual-token-model).&#x20;

### Experience Points (XP) & Fuel-Grade Crystal (FGC) <a href="#r1gp" id="r1gp"></a>

Players earn experience points (XP) by completing missions and arenas, claiming daily login rewards, spinning the daily wheel, and participating in community events. XP is how you grow stronger and unlock new parts of the game. Your total XP appears on your profile and determines when you can enter the Open World or appear on the leaderboard. Every mission awards base XP based on your star rating. Five stars give you the full amount. Fewer stars reduce the reward. You can also earn bonus XP by finishing faster or achieving perfect kill times. For example, Mission 1 awards 2,000 XP at five stars. Beat it in 90 seconds or land perfect crab kills to earn an additional 500 XP. In Mission 4, you'll unlock Fuel-Grade Crystal (FGC), a powerful new resource. Earn it by completing the mission with five stars. FGC is a key material that unlocks many key features in the Open World.

In each arena, players spend a certain amount of XP. The match fees of all participants constitute the contest's prize pool. Twenty percent of the prize pool is burned at the beginning of each arena. Fifty percent, thirty percent, and twenty percent of the remaining XP are distributed to the first three winners in that order.

### Rewards: Arenas

<table><thead><tr><th width="115.27273559570312">Arena</th><th width="95.8787841796875">Participants</th><th width="103.1514892578125">Match fees</th><th width="86.787841796875">Burn</th><th width="94.66668701171875">1st reward</th><th width="94.06048583984375">2nd reward</th><th width="104.9696044921875">3rd reward</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Arena 1</td><td>2</td><td>200 XP</td><td>40 XP</td><td>160 XP</td><td>-</td><td>-</td></tr><tr><td>Arena 2</td><td>4</td><td>400 XP</td><td>320 XP</td><td>640 XP</td><td>384 XP</td><td>256 XP</td></tr><tr><td>Arena 3</td><td>6</td><td>600 XP</td><td>720 XP</td><td>1440 XP</td><td>864 XP</td><td>576 XP</td></tr><tr><td>Arena 4</td><td>8</td><td>800 XP</td><td>1280 XP</td><td>2560 XP</td><td>1536 XP</td><td>1024 XP</td></tr><tr><td>Open World Arena</td><td>8</td><td>1000 XP</td><td>1600 XP</td><td>3200 XP</td><td>1920 XP</td><td>1280 XP</td></tr></tbody></table>

Note that in Arena mode, if the number of participants is less than the maximum, XP rewards will be distributed proportionally. XP can be converted to $LORD at a 1000:1 ratio.&#x20;

### $LORD

In MetaSpace, you can convert XP to $LORD, the game's earnings and utility token. The conversion rate is 1,000 XP to 1 $LORD. $LORD is required as a staking fee when you stake NFTs or $MLD in the MetaSpace marketplace. You earn $LORD primarily by converting XP, which means every mission completed and arena won translates into real value.&#x20;

Since $LORD comes directly from your gameplay, it represents value you've earned by playing. You decide whether to hold it or stake it. A small fee in $LORD is required to stake NFTs or $MLD. This feature contributes to the token's utility and demand. However, if you don’t have enough $LORD in your wallet to pay the staking fee, you can buy more from the marketplace. Note that even though $LORD is in unlimited supply, the token is systematically burnt during Arena battles to preserve the token’s stability.

### $MLD

$MLD (METALORD) is the in-game and governance token of the MetaSpace platform. You need $MLD to buy in-game items as NFTs, and you can stake them on the marketplace to earn more $MLD tokens. You can purchase $MLD with any cryptocurrency or fiat, directly from the marketplace. Once you own it, use it to buy shootables, melees, vehicles, or characters that become real NFTs in your wallet. Staking $MLD or your NFTs earns you more $MLD as rewards based on how long you keep them staked.

Higher-tier NFTs earn even better rewards. The token also grants you voting power in the DAO, allowing you to help decide future updates. $MLD is powerful because it controls both game collectibles and the direction of the ecosystem growth. You can earn it through staking, buy it from the marketplace, or win it in special events. The dual token system with $LORD creates a smooth flow of the ecosystem. You earn with one and spend or govern with the other.
